April 28th, 2008 -- OwnYourVenture.com launches Beta testing!

We've invited a small group of people to test out our new equity investment simulation tool. It's aimed at helping entrepreneurs in their earliest stages of thinking about financing. We hope it will be helpful. Click the 'Our Tools' link below to launch it.

About Us

We developed OwnYourVenture because we spend a lot of time working with entrepreneurs who are just getting started. We frequently find ourselves talking to people who have amazing ideas and phenomenal skillsets...but who are just getting their collective heads around the fact that to really execute well in the earliest stages of a new venture they will have to learn a bit about the business of building a company.

OwnYourVenture hopes to help the earliest stage founding teams by providing free tools and information that will help new ventures make the best decisions possible.

As a team, we've been involved with multiple startups as well as early and late stage investment groups... we've got all of the credentials that might be useful for checking a box... but we're also pretty sure that no one cares if they don't find what we're doing useful. So please, check things out and feel free to send any feedback to feedback@ownyourventure.com.

Lastly, if you're the kind of user who got this far into reading what's here, we hope that the tools we offer will only be half of what's interesting. We plan to embed lots of content that will clearly explain what is going on in simple terms -- and when we find places that are doing a great job explaining things, we'll send you there. So maybe that's a long way of saying...Click around!

Equity Investment Simulator

The equity simulator makes understanding the impact of raising money for an early stage venture transparent and easy to grasp. It is intended to take some of the confusion out of raising angel or venture money.

The audience for this tool is broad, but we hope it will find its way into the hands of founders in particular, those who are just beginning to make decisions about how to finance their companies -- simplifying the process so that they can focus on their big idea.
